Raining Cats & Dogs

Happy New Year everyone, from rainy LA. It hasn't poured like this here in a long time. We went on a walk this morning, and I think Godfather figured out we're not particulary fond of pouring rain. Baths are for people!! Luckily we have lots of toys to play with and bones to chew on. We both stayed up pretty late playing with Godfather's friends, and having a fabulous time. We'll ring in the New Year with new bones and wrestling! And tomorrow we get to see our Mom & Dad again. We'll miss West Hollywood, but it will be nice to get back into our routine at home :-) Happy New Year!

King of Beasts

Wow, TGIF! This morning we had breakfast at Starbucks and made several new friends. This afternoon, we had a play date with our best friend Beast. Beast's Mommy and Daddy have a new baby too. Her name is Arielle, and she's SO cute. At first when we heard her crying, we thought Hannah was there! It's neat to think that Hannah will be that big in a couple of months. Beast's Dad Jorge cooked STEAK on the grill, and Godfather saved us a few scraps. He also cooked shrimp with onions & peppers! Mmmmmmm. Talk about eating like Kings. If that was lunch, we can hardly wait for dinner! Beast's Mom was kind enough to send these great photos from this afternoon.

We're definitely getting used to this staying up late thing, and Godfather actually woke US up this morning to go out. He didn't lick us though, like we lick him :-) Godfather has friends coming over tonight, so we're cleaning our toys up around the house, and getting ready for another night of partying! Valley Girls

Welcome back to the wonderful world of Garbo and Ruby. Tonight we went on an excursion to the Valley!! We were really excited, because we got to drive on Laurel Canyon Blvd. That's better than a roller coaster!! In the Valley we visited Godfather's friend Carol. She's more of a cat person, but sadly her cat died last year. Believe it or not, we still smelled her though. Carol hasn't gotten a new cat yet, but she does have a turtle named Lola. Ruby and Lola got along famously, though Garbo lost interest quickly. Lola didn't peek her head out much, but she didn't seem too bothered by Ruby's taunting. Another typical laid back Valley Girl...just like Ruby :-) LOL

Godfather came up with a great idea tonight on our 11:30 walk. A "multiple dog" retractable leash. He designed the whole thing in his head as we walked to Sweetzer, and around the block and back. Unfortunately when we got home, a little research determined that the idea's already been patented: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6237539.html It's too bad...we thought it was a great idea, and we were getting ready to retire (from what we're not sure!)

We've got a play date tomorrow afternoon with Beast, so I guess we should get some rest. We can't believe tomorrow's already Friday. Time flies when you're having fun. We talked to Dad on the phone tonight, and it sounds like they're having a fabulous time with our cousins. Good night for now! G & R

Another Day in Paradise

Wow, what a night last night! We slept in today, because we're not used to the party scene in Weho. Godfather had three conference calls this morning, so it worked out well that we were tired :)

This afternoon we walked down to the Pet Supply store on Santa Monica Blvd. There were lots of things to smell and see there, and we made many new friends.

Tonight we got to turned on Godfather's webcam and Mommy and Dadddy got to see us all the way in Pennsylvania. We love the 21st Century! Godfather said it made Mommy sad to see us on the computer, but we thought it was doggone fantastic!

We retired early tonight, after a walk around the block. Garbo seemed tired so we came home and slept while Godfather paid bills. We're looking forward to cuddling with him when he finally comes to bed. Godfather emailed Beast's parents to see if Beast could have a play date tomorrow. We hope they write back...because we love Beast! That's all for now. We hope Mommy & Daddy are having a good time back east! Love Garbo & Ruby

Our First Blog Entry

We're Garbo and Ruby and we'd like to welcome you to our FIRST blog entry! You see, Mommy & Daddy are away for a few days and we're staying with Carey (henceforth known as "The Godfather or simply Godfather" -- he told us to write that...something about vying for a position in the will ??). We decided to start this blog so that Mommy & Daddy could keep abreast of the various goings on in our busy West Hollywood social calendar.

After Mommy & Daddy dropped us off today Godfather had some work to do, so we played with our toys, and barked at a few of our canine neighbors who came by to see if we could play. At about 3:30 Godfather took us to Jamba Juice where we met his friend Sven, and a sexy Greyhound named Lexie. We told her we'd love to race her some time (won't she be surprised when she sees how fast we run in the Olive Manor hallway!!)

We had dinner tonight "al fresco" on Godfather's patio, where all the passerby's commented about how cute we were. Living in West Hollywood is definitely good for our egos! We got to take another long walk tonight and we went by the same place we ate lunch today. Naturally we assumed we were going back to eat, though Godfather said the restaurant wasn't open at 11 PM. We checked for any fallen food nonetheless, and continued on our merry way.

Wow, we haven't been up this late since the night Mommy had Hannah. Godfather told us to "get used to it". He said we could sleep in as late as we wanted in the morning, but that sleep probably wouldn't be an option until about 2 AM each night. West Hollywood is SO exciting!!

Anyway, Godfather Tivo'd the Daily Show, so I think we'll go watch that for now. I hope Mommy & Daddy know how much we miss them, but we are having a FABULOUS time. More to come...
